General details of school sessions

We run these sessions both at sites and in schools. The charge per child is £2.50 for schools within Herefordshire and £3.00 for those out of county for a session of one and a half hours duration. We charge per child to make the sessions affordable for all schools irrespective of size.

Not-for-profit

Our educational sessions are charged on a not-for-profit basis. The charges take into consideration the following :

  • We pay our educators a fair rate for what they do.
  • We pay our educators for contact time. setting up and taking down time and travel time when they come to your school.
  • We pay the costs involved in attending your school.
  • We cover the cost of all materials used in each session.

Booking

For information on booking please contact the Learning Administrator on (01432) 260692 or e-mail herefordmuseums@herefordshire.gov.uk

Quality Assurance

All our sessions have been developed to the highest standards by professional museum educators and have been researched and piloted with teachers from schools in Herefordshire's Education Action Zone.

We employ experienced museum educators to deliver the sessions and they are all appropriately trained.

Evaluation of the sessions is an ongoing process.

The sessions all relate to the QCA National Curriculum.

Resources used consist of original objects or high quality replicas, most of which relate to local history.
