Museum Resource and Learning Centre

This state of the art museum store and learning centre houses the Herefordshire collections.
Subjects covered by the collections include: Social History, Archaeology, Fine & Decorative art, Documentary collections, Ethnography & Community Collections, Costume and Textiles, Natural Sciences.

The MR&LC is open to the public between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday to visit the atrium displays. The atrium display currently houses the recently restored Kington Tram, one of only six surviving industrial tramcars in the world.

Themed open days occur every 6 weeks, see events listing for details of upcoming open days.
The collections are available to view by appointment and the collections staff are always happy to hear from members or the public or community organisations who wish to make a visit to look at the collections.

  • The Museum Resource & Learning Centre has the following state-of-the-art facilities:
  • Six purpose built storage areas
  • A walk in freezer for treating artefacts affected by insect pests and mould, available to hire contact MR&LC for hire charges.
  • Research room and reference library for use by researchers
  • Learning room with the latest display technology for use in conjunction with the museum collections by learning groups such as community groups, specialist interest groups, and education groups.
