Museum Resource and Learning Centre

Museum Resource and Learning Centre This is the central storage facility for the county's museum collections, with a difference!

In addition to climate controlled stores which keep your heritage preserved for all to enjoy, this centre is also open to the public for curatorial advice and identifications and drop in visits on the second Thursday and third Tuesday of each month from 10am to 1pm.  Art, archaeology and history curators are available on the Tuesday slot, natural history, geology and costume and textile curators on the Thursday slot.

Appointments to visit the collections for longer periods of research or for group visits to see behind the scenes can be made by appointment, we are normally available on Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm, excluding bank holidays.

We run regular family friendly events with our big events days in the main school holidays and smaller scale events at half terms.  Why not come to one of our many workshops or lectures?  Please see our  for more details. Schools and formal learners are also catered for with a dedicated learning room.
