Playgroups

Playgroups can join the library very easily. All they need is to fill in a joining form with a contact name, address and telephone number for someone at the setting. Playgroup staff will then be able to borrow up to twenty books free of charge for up to 3 months at a time. We don't even charge you for late or lost books! Books can be renewed over the telephone, online or by popping in to the library if you need to keep them for longer. If your group are quick readers, you can change your books as often as you like! You can even keep your library card at the library desk so that it doesn't get lost!

At the moment we have a lot of new picture books in stock for settings to choose from, but we try and ensure that our picture and board book stock is in great condition at all times, so you will always find a great selection.

Sharing books with children aged between 3 and 5 years old will have a direct influence on their motivation to learn to read and to become readers for life. At this stage children begin to display reading behaviours that are common to all readers and it is really important to us that we can help playgroups and parents in encouraging a love of books in children from an early age.
