Home Delivery Library Service
The Home Delivery Service is offered to those who are unable to visit their local library and who do not have anyone who can visit on their behalf. This is a free service providing books and spoken word CDs on a 6 week basis. The new service commenced on Tuesday 1st November 2011.
We assess applicants with a visit by staff who have been trained and are CRB checked. Once a decision has been made we will organise the first delivery and talk to applicants about their reading preferences. This can be a short or long term arrangement. The details may be shared with Adult Social Care so that the Council has a greater understanding of what services residents in Herefordshire are receiving.
If you would like any further information about this service or you know someone in your community who may be eligible please contact Miss Clare Lockley, Delivered Library Service Principal Officer on 01432 260645, or email

Mobile Library Service
The Mobile Library service has now finished operating in Herefordshire. All customers who have items on loan will need to return them to their nearest Branch Library, opening hours can be found on this website.
We would like to thank all customers, past and present, for supporting this service throughout the years. We hope you will all continue to use library services in Herefordshire in the future.
Local groups, parish councils and organisations who would be interested in setting up and operating community based libraries for example in shops or village halls can contact Jon Chedgzoy, Libraries Manager at jchedgzoy@herefordshire.gov.uk Tel: 01432 260557.
