The Bromyard Centre opened to the public on Monday 5th January 2004 and is alive with facilities and services designed especially for the residents and visitors to Bromyard. The redevelopment of the building hosts a brand new library, Tourist Information, Info in Herefordshire, Leisure Services and the Youth Service. The main contractor was CJ Bayliss and they were on site to complete the Herefordshire Council’s most ambitious one stop centre and first new purpose built library for the County since 1993.
Mark Warren (Head of Customer Services and Libraries – Herefordshire Council) stated,
“This new partnership approach will bring services together for the benefit we hope of all residents and visitors. Bromyard will have the latest thinking and services on its doorstep... The library element will offer amongst the longest opening hours for a library in the country. Opening on a site with other lifestyle services is good news for everyone. The range of partners is evidence of the commitment to make this Council’s investment a roaring success from day one.”
Jon Argent (Chief Executive – Halo) added,
“Halo and the Leisure Centre at Bromyard are at the heart of the local community. Our products and services are better than ever with longer opening hours and value for money services. We look forward to working in partnership with The Herefordshire Council and the people of Bromyard.”
