1A Cathedral Close, Hereford, HR1 2NG.
Brief description of organisation
The Three Choirs Festival has been held each year since the early eighteenth century and rotates in a three-year cycle between the cathedral cities of Hereford, Gloucester and Worcester. It is one of the world’s oldest classical choral music festivals. This heritage has long established the Festival as a firm fixture in the British music calendar and a must visit for lovers of the great choral works from across Britain, Europe, America and Australasia. The centre piece within the week long festival is the concert each evening in the cathedral, with programmes that combine the established favourites of the British classical choral tradition with works drawn from a broader, more international musical canvas, and supported by daytime programmes of chamber music, opera, theatre, organ recitals, talks, exhibitions and other events. During Three Choirs Festival in Hereford this year the organisation also promoted a number of more community focused activities under the banner of Three Choirs Plus.
