Amongst the collections offered to Herefordshire Archive Service there have been many duplicate Ordnance Survey maps and these are now available to purchase from the Record Office.
Please note that there are no first edition maps for sale – available maps are second edition (from 1903) or later editions (1929) onwards. There is not a complete set for the whole county and only limited maps available for Hereford city and the market towns.
The condition of the maps varies and this is reflected in the price. A clean map in good condition is priced at £10, with prices then running through £7, £5, £3, and £1 dependant on the number of creases, tears, marks or annotations, colouring and general condition. The condition of an individual map is described in the search results, but if you have any queries about the condition of a particular map then please contact us on 01432 260750 or email archives@herefordshire.gov.uk quoting the sheet and map number that you are interested in.
Single maps will be supplied in a cardboard tube and £4.25 will be charged for postage and packing within Great Britain. If buying more than one map - or if postage overseas is required - please ask for details.
Please note that original sheet numbers are given in Roman numerals – a reminder about Roman numerals.
Please check with us to confirm availability.
