Our most frequently used material has been put onto microfilm and fiche, so to avoid disappointment it is advisable to book a machine in advance of your visit. A leaflet called Microform Guide, which details these records, is available on request.
It is not necessary to book to use original material but you may like to check beforehand that we hold the records you need.
Due to the increase in demand for use of our three public computers, a booking system is in operation. Sessions are of half hour duration and any further use must be authorised by a member of staff. There is a 'bookings board' close to the computers so that available times can be accessed by all.
We provide an information leaflet 'Visiting the Herefordshire Record Office' which may help you prepare for your visit. The information in this and the 'Microform Guide' leaflet mentioned above can be found on our website. Please see the link to the right.
