Fighting Disease in Hereford

Looking at maps, census documents, reports on housing, sanitation and health, children will learn about living conditions in Hereford in Victorian times and what measures the authorities took to combat disease, including looking at rules for hospital patients!

Activities will include writing a diary for a fever hospital inpatient, debating over building the fever hospital in 1890, and compiling a TV/newspaper report about an outbreak of illness in the city.
