The Work of the Record Office

This can be a session in its own right or a shorter introduction to another session - particularly Local History Research projects.

Children will learn what the staff at Herefordshire Record Office do: how they look after the records, what topics people research in the office and what sort of records are held there.

Look at some of the oldest (and newest!) documents held at the Record Office as well as some records for your locality - maps, parish registers, deeds, sales particulars, trade directories, postcards, photographs, etc.
