Herefordshire Archive Service is based in the Record Office in Harold Street, Hereford. From there we make available nearly 2 miles of records to researchers besides microform, books and electronic databases and indexes.
Archives are fascinating - not only as a resource for research, but also a connection between the people of the past and the people of today.
If you would like to find out more about Herefordshire Archive Service and the archives we hold, why not arrange a talk or a visit to the record office.
Each week we receive new deposits of archives. If you have some records that you think we may be interested in, please contact us and the archivist will be happy to discuss this with you. You should also see the 'Terms of Deposit' section to the left.
We have an ongoing programme of cataloguing to tackle both the new deposits and the backlog, which is approximately a third of our holdings.
Some of our catalogues, and those of other archive holders across the country have been made available electronically. There is a link on the 'Catalogues' page to the A2A website.
