2012 Education and Skills

On Your Marks…Get Set…Go

The official London 2012 education programme, ‘Get Set’ has been up and running since August 2008 and already has thousands of schools and colleges registered. The programme has been developed by LOCOG and the DCSF and is catering for educational establishments working with children and young people from the age of 3 to 19.

To date around 81% of schools and colleges in Herefordshire have registered on the site and are already benefiting from the opportunities it is offering.

‘I must stress the Get Set resource is not only for physical education lessons or practitioners; it offers schools and colleges a plethora of cross curricular opportunities. By using this unique opportunity we can engage traditionally difficult topics in a new and innovative way.’ Steve Ashton Herefordshire 2012 Officer.

Once registered there is a whole range of flexible, interactive learning resources that are designed to get you thinking about the 7 Olympic and Paralympic Values - with games, factsheets, films, news articles and much more.
