Best value and development control

Central Government has an ambitious modernising agenda for the Planning Service and your Town and Parish Council have been consulted as part of the Best Value Review of Development Control. Officers are working to speed up the processing of planning applications, keep everyone informed of what’s happening and provide an excellent and responsive service for the whole community. Case officers are under considerable pressure to determine as many applications as possible within the eight week statutory period set by Central Government. The prompt return of planning consultations will help the Council meet its target.
