Development Plan Documents

The 2004 Act provides for the preparation of Development Plan Documents in the form of a Core Strategy, allocations of land for specific uses, area action plans and proposals map.

The Unitary Development Plan will be 'saved' as a Development Plan Document for a three year period from 23rd March 2007. During this period the Council will be working to put in place elements of the new system. It is possible that some UDP policies may be retained for a period longer than three years.

The Development Plan Documents currently highlighted within the LDS are:

• Core Strategy.
• Hereford Area Plan.
• Market Towns and Rural Areas Plan.
