Local Development Framework

Under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 the Herefordshire Unitary Development Plan will eventually be replaced with a collection of documents known as the Local Development Framework.

The Local Development Framework (LDF) will consist of:-

  • Local Development Scheme
  • Statement of Community Involvement
  • Development Plan Documents (including Core Strategy)
  • Supplementary Planning Documents
  • Annual Monitoring Reports
  • Sustainability Appraisal

These can be accessed from the menus to the left.
Together these documents will provide the framework for delivering the spatial planning strategy for Herefordshire.

Further Information
Our glossary of terms may help in understanding the new system (see the link in the Resources box below).
The Communities and Local Government website contains Planning Policy Statement 12:(Local Development Frameworks) that should also assist understanding.
