Household Waste

The refuse collection service operates throughout the county and provides a weekly collection from all domestic properties. A black refuse sack is provided to each of these properties at the time of the collection.

The service includes the collection of garden refuse in special green sacks purchased from the Herefordshire Council. The cost of this service is 60p per sack.

These sacks are available from: The Hereford Centre, Garrick House in Hereford; Corn Square, Leominster; St. Katherine's Offices, Ledbury; Cruxwell Street, Bromyard; Swan House, Edde Cross Street, Ross-on-Wye and Bridge Street, Kington.

For non bulky garden and kitchen waste Herefordshire Council are able to supply a Home Compost Bin at a reduced rate to residents. Please telephone 01432 261769 for further information or 0845 730 0123 to order.

Alternatively garden waste including bulky items can be taken to your nearest Household Waste Site for central composting.

Normal refuse collections will take place on all Bank Holidays throughout the year with the exception of the Christmas and New Year period, when special collection arrangements will be printed on refuse sacks and advertised in advance in the local press and on local radio.
