Reporting back by lead partners will be an important and continuing process, identifying how action is progressing, what the barriers to successful implementation are and what new opportunities are available. This will enable the production of annual reports on progress and inform future review of the action plans, when targets can be reassessed and new action identified to address the issues and opportunities identified. Reports on the implementation of relevant plans and actions to national lead partners will also be possible.
Monitoring, through continuing species and habitat surveys, to identify the effect that the action taken as a result of this plan is having for Herefordshire's biodiversity is an important component of many of the action plans themselves.
The UK standard for monitoring the progress of BAP delivery is through the use of the Biodiversity Action Reporting System (BARS). Through partners using this website, we can track how successfully the plans are being delivered. The plans can be altered in response to lack of progress or as and when new issues arise. Plans may be removed if it is deemed no longer necessary to have them as targets have been achieved.
Guidance on monitoring the delivery of the LBAP and reporting plan progress as well as training notes and presentations for assisting partners in using this system are provided in the box on the right of this screen.
