Sensory impairment

People with a sensory impairment have a right to be fully involved in the community. Social Services helps people to create opportunities and make the best use of their abilities.

You have a sensory impairment if you have

  • Significant hearing loss
  • Visual impairment
  • Any combination of these

To find out if you are eligible for help and for an assessment of your needs, contact us.

We have a team of specialist social workers who have the knowledge and skills to advise and help people with a sensory impairment. For more information email: sensoryimpairment@herefordshire.gov.uk

If you have a carer, they can have an assessment, too.

We have a leaflet giving more information about this service. To read it here, or to download it click on the link below. Or call into one of our offices and ask for a copy. If you want an alternative format, such as audio tape or Braille, please ask.

Click on the links below for more information.

Or you can e-mail;
Herefordshire Association for the Blind: pat.dazeley@btinternet.com
Deaf Direct: hereford@deafdirect.org.uk
