Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

I wish to serve alcohol at my pavement café. Does the Highways Amenity Licence cover this?

Answer:

No, permission to serve alcohol is outside the parameters of this licence.

However, the Street Trading Panel is keen to develop a vibrant café culture in the market towns and city of Hereford so will still consider an application where alcohol consumption is proposed as part of a food and beverage establishment.

This is subject to proof being obtained that the relevant liquor licensing authority has given permission for alcohol to be consumed within a controlled and enclosed pavement café area that Herefordshire Council may or may not approve a licence for.
