Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

How do I get help with a boundary dispute or Party Wall dispute?

Answer:

Boundaries are shown on a large scale Ordnance Survey plan held by the Land Registry. Each registered title has a title plan. This shows your property's physical rather than legal boundaries.

If there is a dispute over the boundary of your property or the Party Wall, the RICS can help and operate a telephone helpline: 0870 333 1600.

For further information visit

The Building Control Service can check to see if the work to the Party Wall has building regulations approval, please contact 01432 261940 or email buildingcontrolenquiries@herefordshire.gov.uk to discuss.

A local authority does not have a role in resolving boundary or Party Wall disputes.
