Environment | How do I make a submission for Building Regulation consent?
Frequently Asked Questions
Answer:
Application forms can be downloaded from the Herefordshire Council website under the
'Online Council Forms' section. There are two main forms of submission:
- Full Plans; the form is filled out and deposited with the Building Control Section. The forms should be accompanied by the 'plan' fee, a site location plan and two sets of working drawings. Once the drawings have been checked for compliance with The Building Regulations a decision notice is issued. The 'inspection fee' is payable when the work commences.
- Building Notice; the form is filled out and deposited with the Building Control Section. The forms should be accompanied by the whole fee (a total of both the 'plan' and 'inspection' fees) and a site location plan. Once the submission has been registered a letter is sent informing the applicant of the contact details when the work commences. With a Building Notice submission there is no decision notice issued as decisions regarding compliance with The Building Regulations are taken by the Surveyors on site.
2 clear working days (excluding Bank/Public Holidays) notice is required whichever method is used.
