Frequently Asked Questions
Question:
I have to report a fly tipping incident. Should I refer it to the local council or to the Environment Agency?
Answer:
Both Herefordshire Council and the Environment Agency have
powers to deal with fly tipping. However, we suggest that you refer
all incidents to the council in the first instance as most fly
tipping is routinely investigated by the council.
In accordance with our protocol, if necessary we will
automatically refer large scale tipping, toxic chemical incidents
and organised crime cases to the Environment Agency.
For further information see the
fly tipping
section.
