Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

I'm a smoker, how will smokefree affect me?

Answer:

The law does not insist on people giving up smoking, it just restricts where you can do it.  However, evidence from those places that have already gone smokefree indicates that going smokefree is the ‘push’ that motivates many people to give up.

The local NHS service can be contacted (01432) 262019 or email stopsmoking@herefordpct.nhs.uk. There is also a free helpline on 0800 169 0 169 or the website http://www.smokefree.gov/ or text ‘GIVE UP’ and your full postcode to 88088.

For further information see the Smokefree Herefordshire section.
