There is considerable international evidence from countries that have introduced similar legislation that it is, and there are benefits for both businesses and individuals.Ireland and Scotland have already gone smokefree, and they report positive outcomes. Wales is due to go smokefree on 2 April 2007, so Herefordshire might be able to learn from its near neighbours, Powys.
