The State of Herefordshire Report (SoH), produced by the Herefordshire Partnership Research Team, is a digest of statistics about Herefordshire containing local performance and contextual information.  The State of Herefordshire Report describes the county and the current issues that it is facing, a useful tool for policy making and evidence for funding bids.

The State of Herefordshire Report 2009 was published in May 2009.  Chapters are available to view or download from the box at the bottom of this page.

The report is linked to the Herefordshire Sustainable Community Strategy, which sets out aspirations for the county by 2020 and how they might be achieved, and also to the Local Area Agreement (LAA), which is an agreement between central government and the local area about how local public services are going to make life better for people who live or work here.  The Community Strategy and LAA can be found on the Herefordshire Partnership website.  The State of Herefordshire Report provides trend data for Performance Indicators (PIs) in the Community Strategy and LAA, together with relevant contextual facts and figures.  PI numbers are given where appropriate.  Wherever possible, comparative data is presented to allow benchmarking.

Most of the data contained in the State of Herefordshire Reports are also available under individual topics in the menu on the left, and we're aiming to fill any remaining gaps as soon as possible.  Data on these topic pages will be updated as and when new information becomes available, and so may be more up-to-date than that in the printed reports.  In time, we hope to be able to offer a service where subscribers can receive automated notification when updates are published, via email and RSS feeds.  When this service is available, users will be able to tailor these messages so that they only hear about the topics they are interested in.

This year, the report has been produced as a series of individual chapters. Each chapter has an introduction and the relevant reference sections. The Key Findings chapter summarises the key messages from the thematic chapters.
