Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

Where and how long have we been monitoring air pollution?

Answer:

Some data goes back as far as 1993, although the reliability of this earlier data is questionable. The data we currently refer to goes back as far as 2000.

Hourly readings are monitored at the Edgar Street roundabout in Hereford and adjacent to the Minster School in Leominster. We also monitor at over 50 points across the county using diffusion tubes, which give monthly averages.

These locations and all this data can be found in the appendices of the various air quality reports which you can download from this website.

For further information see the Air quality section.
