Fly tipping in Herefordshire

Fly tipping is an increasing problem which causes environmental pollution as well as a significant cost to Herefordshire Council in terms of collection and disposal.

The Community Protection Team will investigate and may inspect illegally dumped material anywhere in the county. The council will also arrange for the removal of the waste from all highways, verges, lay-bys and any other land under the control of the authority. Inspection includes the gathering of evidence for possible prosecution of those people dumping illegally.
