Our Pest Control Contract Service will provide you with individually tailored contract to suit any type of business and any kind of property or premises.

With prevention always being preferable to a cure, a Pest Control Contract can help to maintain a pest free environment, which in turn will help you to conform with certain legislations and codes of practice, reduce damage caused by pests and reduce the risk of disease.

We can provide:
  • Initial site visit to inspect and assess the situation.
  • A comprehensive contract individually tailored to suit your requirements (or those of your buyers, HSE, FSA etc).
  • Full written quotation detailing scope of contract with four service levels demonstrated.
  • Report sheets detailing visits, bait usage at each bait point.
  • Computerised site plans duly marked with bait points all numbered which correspond to the report sheets.
  • COSHH and Health & Safety sheets.
  • Options on levels of service/visits/callouts required.
  • Option to cover rodents and or insects.
  • One off infestation clearouts.
  • Non-toxic bait where possible to reduce risk of contamination occurring especially in the food industry.
  • Fixed Price for term of contract – annually renewed.
  • All the equipment required i.e. Secure Bait Stations at no additional charge to the contract.  This equipment remains the property of Herefordshire Council, but will remain on your site for the duration of the contract.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I have to pay for Pest Control Treatments? Are the costs not included in my Council Tax?

There is no statutory obligation for the Local Authority to provide a Pest Control Service.  By making a modest charge for pest control the Local Authority is able to offer the residents of Herefordshire a good quality, competitively priced service which is often cheaper than the majority of private pest control companies.

Also, under the Prevention of Damage by Pests Act, all owners of land have a legal duty to keep their land free from rats and mice.

How quickly can you respond to my problem?

A Pest Control Technician will contact you within 24 hours of you contacting the office.  The Pest Control Technician will make an appointment that is mutually convenient.

How can I get rid of rats?

Rats breed rapidly, are very adaptable and highly mobile.  This combination makes rat control a difficult task for the untrained individual.

I had a wasp nest treated but it was not removed. Does this mean wasps will use this nest next year?

No. Wasps do not use the same nest twice, although they may make a new nest close to the original nest.

I work full time, can a Technician visit outside of my working day?

The Pest Control Technicians operate flexible working hours Monday to Friday, and it may be possible for you to arrange for a technician to call before you go out.

What should I do if I see a rodent in my garden?

Contact us on 01432 261761 and a Technician can give advice.  If treatment is needed a Technician will arrange to visit her property.

If I decide to hold a Pest Control Contract with Herefordshire Council, do I have to buy the equipment?

No.  The equipment remains the property of Herefordshire Council for the duration of the Contract.  If you decide to cancel your Contract, a Technician will call to collect all the equipment.
