Ceramics Exhibitors 2009

Being inspired by natural erosion & water, my aim is to create pieces whose surface qualities are either formed instantaneously during the making process-ie throwing, or each texture is collaged together in order to enhance its appearance & shape.

'Grub Up' (dog in cat flap)

The ceramic world of Garry Jones is full of humour and fun. His highly individual sculptures reflect his imagination and his skill as a designer and ceramic artist. He welcomes enquiries about special commissions.

Pair of green bowls with incised rim

Handthrown porcelain pots for kitchen and dining.

Cups & saucers 'fox & hens' pattern

Wheel thrown and slip cast decorative, domestic ceramics - earthenware with coloured slips and underglazes.

Will She? Rose hearts memory bowl

Kerry specialises in silver & ceramics, this unique combination has sparked great enthusiasm for her work. Her handmade sophisticated products are sculptural yet functional with an emphasis on items for the table & interior.

Blue smoke fired pots

The feel of my pots is important, hence the hand building methods, use of coloured slips and carefully burnished surface. Play begins when I draw or mark make through the resist slip and experiment with smoke firing combustible materials.

Mugs - beaker line blend

James & Tilla's work is all thrown & designed to be functional. They have produced a series of pots where the colour is seen to mutate gradually from one pot to the next. They develop their own glazes and their work is made collaboratively.

Jugs

Alistair's stoneware pots range from large decorated wall plates to tableware. The forms are often altered by pressing & denting while the clay is still soft or decorated with beads of porcelain. Colour is achieved by salt glaze & coloured glazes.
