Clock 12.09

I make contemporary mechanical clocks with wooden gearing. These are weight driven, pendulum regulated devices with minimal frames revealing the working mechanism. These kinetic sculptures invite a deep contemplation of time.

Stripe vessel and relief vessel

I work solely with hand built porcelain – creating semi-functional pieces. My work addresses the boundaries between function & decoration. It is also very much concerned with the simplicity & beauty of the clay.

The Crocodile

Vibrant, colourful wall mounted mosaics of birds and other creatures. Handmade using stained glass, tiles, recycled ceramics and millefiori.

Bangles with enamel

Emily's work is inspired by colours and patterns worn by African tribes & the concept of families. Combining these ideas with natural forms & colours in textiles & artefacts, she works in sterling silver applying accents of vitreous coloured enamels.

Green Tulip

One-off designer made hats, headpieces and textile jewellery using a combination of traditional techniques with innovative shapes and unusual materials. Member of Gloucesterhsire & Devon Guilds of Craftsmen & of Studio Seven Contemporary Textiles.

Forest of Dean standing stone North, South, East, West

I love stone in its natural form. I search local quarries for interesting pieces of stone & poetry books for words and phrases to carve in to my work. I make standing stones, benches, troughs, lettered pebbles and headstones.

Turquoise shadow weave scarf

I design & weave scarves & wraps where simple weave structures & natural fibres combine to produce beautiful original items.

Little Women Shoes

My practice focuses on creating work from paper; by bonding, waxing, trapping and stitching I create unusual paper materials, which are used to explore 'the remaking' of household objects. I recycle and transform papers that would otherwise go unloved.

Functional baskets for use in the home and garden made from locally sourced materials.

Gavin draws inspiration from forms found in nature, engineering and mathematics to design unique and interesting furniture that is elegant and simple in form. He works in sustainably sourced native and North American hardwoods.

Designer Weaving Company

Stephanie's hand-woven tailored coats & jackets are designed on the loom from quality natural fibres. Her inspiration is colour & texture & her aim is to make the wearer feel and look good.She is recognised for her beautifully tailored, unique garments.

Bridget Drakeford - Porcelain Lidded Jar with Silver Knob

I make functional & decorative porcelain, teapots are my speciality. I like my work to be lived with & enjoyed. The pots can explain themselves better than any statement from me.

Ken makes a wide range of functional ceramics ranging from mugs and bowls to vases and platters. Each piece is hand built using slabs of clay and is then decorated with strong graphic pattern using hand cut stencils.

Coastal Vessel

My work responds to light, colour & texture observed in coastal landscapes & environments. Forms are produced by thrown & hand-built techniques. Surfaces are developed by applying coloured engobes overpainted with transparent glazes & fired to 1120c.

I work exclusively in wood, choosing locally sourced native hardwoods to make domestic and commemorative wares. My inspiration comes partly from the grain and pattern of the timber which I combine with lettering, turning or carving in the pieces I make.

I am interested in the concept of escapism. I escape by reading science fiction and fantasy stories. My collection of tea instruments are intended to enhance the mundane task of tea making with their quirky qualities.

Jennifer has developed a comprehensive range of pots which enliven the daily rituals of taking nourishment. Jennifer’s pots don’t challenge but comfort & enrich food times for people who live to eat not eat to live.

Spikey Vessels

I have a specific interest in complex surface structures, which act as a catalyst for my work. Using a traditional slip casting process with intricate sprigging and incised detail, with stain and glaze decoration.

The jewellery is inspired by natural forms & is characterised by combining different textures & metal colours. It has been described as 'Contemporary Classic' it combines weight & movement and is both strong & feminine.

Brown Blossom

Ceramic Patchwork - a hand stitch process which reworks silk fabrics and revives discarded ceramics to create decorative vessels with a new tactile aesthetic.

Potters are generally good cooks, comments Stuart. Potting is rather like cooking, choose the right ingredients, keep it simple & be generous. Stuart's hand thrown, highfired porcelain gets the recipe right - a joy to handle straight from oven to table.

Sculptural metalware etched with wording derived from classical literature, ranging from decorative pieces to functional tableware such as napkin rings and candlesticks, which have inspired a jewellery range of silver with set gemstones.

A selection of contemporary kilnformed glass jewellery, wall panels and interior accessories. The distinctive pieces incorporate metal based inclusions to create patterns trapped within the glass, and the method of production makes each unique.

Espresso mugs and bowls - porcelain

Tableware & gently distorted vases or vessel forms in porcelain & stoneware clays. Each piece is made on the wheel and high-fired in a gas kiln. Influenced by oriental ceramics & 'fifties' design; classic blue celadon glazes with modern colourants.

Jane Moore

Colour is the most important part of Jane's work and enamel, her perfect medium. The inspiration mainly comes from her love of tiny patterns & motifs, found in Japanese art & artefacts. She combines her own patterns & colour to create 'one-off' pieces.

Beryl Morgans

Individual hand crafted kiln formed vessels, incorporating techniques including strip cutting, sand blasting, crucible pouring. Inspirations are drawn from my walks along Severn estuaries & the relationship between fluidity of the water & the structures.

Cathy Newell Price

Cathy works from her studio in old farm buildings & the natural world is a theme through her work. Pieces are made in a contemporary style, featuring surface texture & a high level of detail. She works in silver with semi-precious stones, gold & enamel.

We design & make furniture & accessories from reclaimed & natural resources, such as oak, slate & metal. Our work evolves from a simplistic approach to design, combining pared down aesthetics with the Japanese view of beauty in imperfection.

Brett Payne's approach to design & making sythesises an ancient technique; hot forging, with original & contemporary ideas of form. His belief in the importance of simplicity leads to a direct & uncomplicated way of making producing contemporary classics

Jenny Pearce

Functional and decorative baskets woven using a variety of homegrown and Somerset willows. I use mostly unstripped willow for its texture and colour and like to borrow from traditional Celtic and English regional styles to develop contemporary designs.

Claudia Petley and Paul Shepherd

Paul & Claudia's work is hand forged, using traditional techniques to create contemporary ironwork. Work ranges from small interior pieces to large architectural installations. They have been inspired by nature to create a range of garden sculptures.

Inspiration comes from the material itself - hot glass is so magical and alive. I am an unashamed vessel maker who brings a fresh and playful approach to working with glass. My objects are enjoyed for their stylish, timeless quality.

Shivani is a highly skilled designer goldsmith passionate about designing & constructing individual pieces of hand crafted jewellery. Her distinctive designs are made using high carat golds & oxidised silver, often combined with unusual bold gemstones.

Julia is a contemporary jeweller producing highly unique & innovative pieces. She has created an exciting range of kinetic jewellery based on a love of vintage items & antique scientific instruments. Work is primarily in silver with stone-set highlights

Having always been attracted to natural surroundings and organic surfaces, the hand built ceramic forms I create embody the varied surfaces and textures of the landscape around us. I use a variety of techniques often with surprising results.

I throw porcelain vessels enriched by oxides and slips which explore my fascination with coastlines. The base of my pots carry the undulating marks left by the sea on sand. The forms are references to the landmarks of my childhood.
