Festive fun for everyone at Queenswood Country Par

Get in the Christmas spirit and find those festive feelings by visiting Queenswood Country Park & Arboretum this December.

There is plenty of fun for all the family including…
Bertie Buzzard’s Christmas Treasure Trail
It’s the end of the Arboretum’s Golden Jubilee celebrations and Bertie, Queenswood’s resident Buzzard has noticed that someone (probably that naughty Micky Magpie) has taken Queenswood’s treasure and hidden it around the arboretum.

You must follow the Badger Trail looking out for the treasure glistening in the trees and make a note of all the items you can find. Entry forms cost £1.00 and are available from the Tourist Information Centre.

All correct entries will win their very own piece of treasure – a gold bar in the form of specially sourced Divine ‘fairtrade’ chocolate (subject to availability) and if you can also spot the odd one out in the treasure trail you can enter into a prize draw for an extra Christmas gift.

Santa helps the Leominster Lions to ‘Serve the Community’
Also at Queenswood on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st December the Leominster Lions will give you the chance to meet Santa Claus. Santa and his sparkly sleigh will be at the Country Park from 11.00am- 3.00pm both days, just enough time for all those ‘good’ little girls and boys to tell him what they want for Christmas!

A chat with Santa costs £2.50, but all participants will receive a Christmas gift and the proceeds will go to the Leominster Lions who are committed this year to raising money towards various local causes including the new Leominster Swimming Pool.

Ready, Steady….Winter Dog Walk!
Also on Sunday 21st December is the Winter Dog Walk at Queenswood in aid of Ready Steady Win and supported by General Dogs Body of Hereford – get your dog sponsored to complete one of the three trails at Queenswood. For more information or to register please contact Jo Jones Tel: 01989 760713 or email: info@readysteadywin.org.uk

Guess the name of the bear
The Queenswood Gift Shop and Tourist Information Centre will be open from 11.00am – 4.00pm everyday in the run up to Christmas so why not pop in and buy a few last minute Christmas presents or stocking fillers? They will also be running a special competition during December – ‘Guess the name of the Queenswood Bear’.
If you can guess the cuddly critter’s name then you will get to give him a new home!

For further details of how to enter this competition or for more information about events at Queenswood this December please contact the Tourist Information Centre Tel: 01568 797842.

Seasonal Snacks
The Queenswood Café will also be open throughout the month (not Mondays) serving seasonal snacks such as mince pies and other tasty treats – to book a table Tel: 01568 797880.

Queenswood Country Park, managed by Herefordshire Council Parks & Countryside Service is open all year, (including Christmas Day) from dawn till dusk with free car parking and a children's play area. There are three waymarked trails and easy access paths so that everyone can explore the park.

Queenswood is on the A49 between Hereford and Leominster – follow the brown signs at the top of Dinmore Hill.
