Bromyard stand by - We're coming your way!

If you live or work in Bromyard the chances are that you’ve heard about the new Bromyard Centre formerly known as the Bromyard Leisure Centre.

The Bromyard Centre will open to the public on Monday, 5th January, 2004, and will be a hive of activity with facilities and services designed especially for the residents and visitors to Bromyard.

Herefordshire Council’s £800,000 redevelopment of the building in Cruxwell St, Bromyard, will host a brand new library, Tourist Information, Info in Herefordshire, Leisure Services, Learn Direct and the Youth Service.

The main contractor is CJ Bayliss and they are currently on site to complete Herefordshire Council’s most ambitious one stop centre and first new purpose built library for the County since 1993.

As building work progresses we have decided to answer some of the questions commonly raised by locals about the centre, its’ services and products.

Mark Warren, Head of Customer Services and Libraries at Herefordshire Council, said: “This new partnership approach will bring services together for the benefit, we hope, of all residents and visitors.

“Bromyard will have the latest thinking and services on its doorstep.

“The library element will offer amongst the longest opening hours for a library in the country.

“Opening on a site with other lifestyle services is good news for everyone. The range of partners is evidence of the Council’s commitment to making its investment in the centre a roaring success from day one.”

Jon Argent, Halo Chief Executive, added: “Halo and the Leisure Centre at Bromyard are at the heart of the local community.

“Our products and services are better than ever with longer opening hours and value for money services.

“We look forward to working in partnership with The Herefordshire Council and the people of Bromyard.”
