A bronze footprint shaped plaque, commissioned by Herefordshire Council, has found it’s resting place in St Michaels and All Angels Church Bodenham.
The plaque was commissioned last year to commemorate the new Jubilee Loop Walk. The plaque now appropriately sits in the churchyard where the walk starts and finishes.
The Jubilee Walk was created by Herefordshire Council to celebrate the Queen’s Golden Jubilee and open Herefordshire’s first walking festival.
“We wanted the new walk to reflect the ethos of the festival, it’s suitable for all the family and lies in the middle of the County so is accessible to many people” said Rob Hemblade, Herefordshire Council’s Public Rights of Way Manager.
“The walk is also a wonderful example of Herefordshire countryside incorporating woodland, a fantastic view of Bodenham Lake and a possible site of a Roman Fort. So, like the walking festival, it really does have something for everyone.”
The Jubilee Walk was an excellent start to last years very successful Walking Festival. This years festival offers even more to visitors and residents of Herefordshire as along with the many opportunities to explore the Herefordshire countryside a food and drink theme has been incorporated.
This years festival takes place from Saturday 14th June to Sunday 22nd June. Booking forms and the full programme of events will be available at the beginning of April. More details can be obtained by telephoning the Festival Booking Office on 01568 797842.
