Council Tax - The facts behind the headlines

Herefordshire Council is about to set its forthcoming Council Tax for the next 12 months.

The issue will be debated at Cabinet, when it meets on Thursday, February 19. Following this it will be considered by full Council when it meets on Friday, March 5.

Issues surrounding Council Tax and Local Government finance can be very confusing. As a result, a special press briefing is to be held at 1pm, on Monday, February 16.

The Leader of the Council, Cllr Roger Phillips, the Chief Executive, Neil Pringle, and the County Treasurer, Ian Hyson, will be there to explain the situation and the reasons behind the recommendations.

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.

The briefing, which will last no longer than 45 minutes, takes place in the Meeting Room at Brockington, on Hafod Road, Hereford.

A light buffet will be provided.
