Working in partnership for the people of Herefordshire

Coming soon to Hereford...Affordable homes

08 February 2005

Herefordshire Council has secured a number of low cost market homes in partnership with Barratt and George Wimpey, for local people who are unable to access the current housing market due to low incomes and high house prices.

The first 19 flats and houses to become available will be located at the former SAS camp, off Bullingham Lane, Hereford, and will be available at a 30% discount off the current market value, which will mean property prices will range from £69,999 - £124,500, with more homes to follow.

To ensure that local needs are met and properties are available to those on low incomes, these properties will be advertised through the choice based lettings agency “Home Point Herefordshire,” which advertise the majority of affordable homes available in the County in the Hereford Admag.

Louise Ware, sales Director of Barratt Bristol, said: “Barratt Homes understands the struggle many go through to get their foot on the property ladder.

“A select number of new homes at the popular Centurian Walk development in Hereford will be offered at discounted prices”

Anyone interested in purchasing one of these properties when they become available will have to be registered with Home Point.

If you are not already registered with Home Point, please contact the Home Point team on (01432) 359500, or via the website www.home-point.info, to request a Home Point application form.

Information on how to acquire one of these properties will be available soon in the Home Point section on page seven of the Admag – so watch that space.
