“Birds of a feather” half term activity day

07 February 2005

Herefordshire Council’s Heritage Services has teamed up with Herefordshire Ornithological Club to provide a range of fun filled, hands-on activities for children of all ages this half term!

The “Birds of a feather” activity day will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 10.30am – 12.30pm and 1.30 – 2.30pm, at Hereford Museum and Art Gallery, Broad Street, Hereford.

From ages four to 14 there is something for everyone at Hereford Museum this holiday! Entry to the event is free.

Youngsters will be able to have their faces painted like a bird and make bird inspired mobiles, badges and lanterns.

There will also be experts on hand - Herefordshire Ornithological Club’s birdman will answer all your bird related questions.

Youngsters will have the chance to discover the mysteries behind feathers and the science of flight.

Visitors will also be able to find out how birds adapt to their habitats and what they can do to encourage birds in their gardens and how to feed them well.

There will also be plenty to keep accompanying adults interested too, take a look at the bird films showing throughout the day or just enjoy this rare opportunity to get up close to the birds from the Museum’s collections.
