Four community and business projects in Bromyard have received a funding boost from the Bromyard Area Partnership.
The grant money comes from the Market Towns Initiative - a funding stream from Advantage West Midlands the Regional Development Agency.
The grants were awarded at a recent meeting of the Partnership and the successful projects are:
# Ramp and Rail Skatepark Group - dedicated to improving skateboarding facilities in the town.
# Marketing and Tourism Strategy - focussed on improving communication between businesses and local attractions.
# Shop Front Grant Scheme - aimed at improving the visual appearance of the town centre.
# Small Grants Scheme for Community Groups – a scheme to help small projects with funding.
Information on how to apply to the winning grant schemes (listed above) will be published in the local press and displayed in public buildings by the Bromyard Market Towns Officer, Nick Webster.
Groups and businesses are encouraged to submit applications for financial assistance.
Joan Dauncey, Bromyard Mayor and Chairman of the Partnership, said: “Hopefully this is the start of great things to come for Bromyard. With the Market Towns money we can make a real difference to people and businesses in the town and surrounding area.”
Projects, which will benefit the area, are currently being sought by the Partnership for implementation in the future.
The funding can be used to support community projects dealing with tourism, youth activities, the economy and either physical or environmental projects.
Mr Webster said he was investigating further funding opportunities for Bromyard and it was hoped the Market Towns Initiative was the first of many.

Notes to editors:
The Bromyard Area Partnership is a public, private and voluntary sector organisation set up to administer the Market Towns Initiative and determine the priorities for Bromyard.
Bromyard has been awarded £300,000 over three years from the Market Towns initiative.
A recent community “health-check” enabled an action plan to be drawn up for the area which in turn led to a series of regeneration “themes” which local people felt needed addressing.
These themes identified projects which then formed an implementation plan detailing how, where and when funding could be spent to address the issues arising from the “health-check”.
