Scrutiny meeting open invitation

Reporters and photographers are reminded that they are welcome to attend a special Herefordshire Council scrutiny meeting to be held on January 14, 2004 at Hereford’s Maylord Orchard Shopping Centre.

The public meeting is to look at ways of bolstering the County’s economy in the face of recent challenges such as the Legionnaires’s outbreak and a setback in funding bids for projects such as the City of Living Crafts.

The Council’s Social and Economic Development Scrutiny Committee is calling for views from local business people and residents on the way forward for the county’s economy.

The meeting, at Maylord Orchard Shopping Centre’s Meeting Room, to be chaired by Cllr Chris Chappell, Chairman of the Social and Economic Development Scrutiny Committee, starts at 6pm.

Local business people have been invited but people from all walks of life are welcome to attend.

Opinions and ideas raised at the meeting will be used to help formulate action plans for rejuvenating the county’s economy.
