Forget Jurassic Park, you need to come to Queenswood Country Park this Wednesday, 28 July, as the ‘Rock & Fossil Roadshow’ will be visiting with lots of fun for all the family to help you learn more about geology.
The roadshow, which is organised by the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Earth Heritage Trust, is one of many activities taking part at Queenswood throughout the summer holidays.
Julie Bundred, Community Liaison Manager for the H&W Earth Heritage Trust said “The roadshow is a collection of activities for families or schoolchildren that are all based on earth science and give a ‘hands-on’ experience of geology and earth heritage. The emphasis is on simple, fun ways of learning about geology.”
Some of the fun planned for Wednesday includes making plaster casts of fossils, fossil painting, guessing what is in the ‘feely’ boxes and making a Silurian Seascape collage.
There will also be the chance to ‘Ask the Experts’ so bring along your own rocks and fossil finds to find out what they are.
If you can’t make it this Wednesday then don’t panic - the roadshow will be returning to the Country Park on Thursday 12 August.
