During the next phase of the scheme it will be necessary to re-introduce a road closure on the A4103 Roman Road from Stretton Sugwas to Tillington Road for a nine-week period from Monday, January 10, to Monday, March 14.
This is the same section of road which had been closed for six weeks up to 22 December.
The existing road is very narrow in places and the road needs to be closed for the safety of the contractor’s staff and the travelling public.
The contractor, Alun Griffiths, will be using the nine-week closure to complete construction of the whole length of the new road between Stretton Sugwas and Tillington Road.
Traffic will be switched on to the new carriageway when the road is re-opened.
Whilst the road is closed, a signed diversion route via the A438 Kings Acre Road will be in place.
Access to frontages along Roman Road will be maintained at all times and access arrangements will be clearly signed throughout the closure period.
Once that phase of the scheme on Roman Road has been completed, works will switch to the removal of the old skew bridge on the A480 between Stretton Sugwas and Wyevale Nurseries.
Details of further road closures will be publicised closer to that time.
