Sure Start is holding an “Open Session” for people to find out more about the proposed Sure Start Family/Children’s Centre Development.
Family and Children’s Centre development is about ensuring that families have access to a seamless service that provides integrated care and education for young children, this will include health services, family support and access to supported childminding facilities.
This integrated approach will be easily accessible to families and lie at the centre of their communities, providing holistic support for children’s development, support for families with young children and will facilitate the return to training and work for those parents/carers who wish to.
The session is on Thursday, November 20th at the Talbot Hotel in Leominster from 4 pm to 6pm.
Plans are currently on display at the Herefordshire Council’s Leominster Info shop.
A proposed timetable has been established subject to the necessary approvals:
· Planning application - end of November 2003
· Out to tender for build - Feb / March 2004
· Build commencement on site - May 2004
· Completion Feb 2005
Issues around parking are under discussion within the design process and in conjunction with the assigned architect and planners.
The Open Session will provide a chance for people to ask questions and air views on the proposed development.
