Winners of this year’s Herefordshire Council Floral Decorations Competition and the Hereford Allotment and Leisure Gardeners Society ‘Summer Judging’ Competition will receive their awards during a special ceremony to be held at Hereford Town Hall on Thursday, 9th October.
Herefordshire Council has organised the ceremony, which starts at 7.30pm, in order to thank the city’s traders and allotment gardeners for their contribution and commitment to making Hereford a more vibrant place for residents and visitors alike.
The Mayor of Hereford Councillor Mrs. Ursula Attfield will present both sets of awards, which were judged by Herefordshire Council Parks & Countryside Service and the Hereford Allotment and Leisure Gardeners Society.

Floral Decorations Competition:
Group 1 – Banks & Offices: Beaumonts Solicitors
Group 2 – Hotels & Public Houses (Large Premises): The Grandstand
Group 3 – Hotels and Public Houses (Small Fronted): The Lichfield Vaults

Geof Tarring, who judged the competition on behalf of Parks & Countryside, said: “The Parks & Countryside Service wants to show just how much we appreciate the contribution of all the traders and businesses to the whole appearance of the city.
“The success of Hereford in Bloom being awarded Gold this year is demonstrable evidence of this shared commitment, which we hope will continue next year.”
