Feast of Words Festival

Story telling, films, authors, competitions and a dinosaur trail through Ludlow and Leominster are just some of the activities and events on offer during The Feast of Words Festival.

The annual celebration of all things literary is on from Friday, October 10 to 13 and is organised by the Herefordshire Libraries, Shropshire Libraries and the Ludlow Assembly rooms.

Events are at the Ludlow Assembly Rooms, Leominster and Ludlow Libraries throughout the festival.

UK’s Children’s Laureate Michael Morpurgo, author of more than 90 internationally acclaimed books, will be at the Ludlow Assembly Rooms on Friday, October 10, for a book signing and talk.

This is a rare chance to see one of the UK’s best-loved children’s authors live on stage.

Teenage cartoon action hero Lara Croft will entertain an older age group in the film Tomb Raider : The Cradle of Life on Sunday, October 12, at the Ludlow Assembly Rooms – Auditorium.

The Feast of Words is a wonderful celebration of children’s books, with a chance to meet some of the best children’s authors and illustrators.

“As well as events at Leominster and Ludlow there are also authors and illustrators visiting local schools. Following on the success of our first festival last year we hope even more families will come along and join in the fun,” said Julia Radburn, Libraries Learning and Access Manager.
