In a unique collaboration between the arts and tourism services of Herefordshire Council, the Herefordshire Crafts Guide is being extended to include craft food and drink producers, and will become the Herefordshire Made Directory.
Recognising the link between craft objects and craft produce, both of which are growth industries in the region, the Herefordshire Made Directory represents an exciting promotional opportunity for craftspeople, galleries, food and drink producers, and associated outlets and organisations.
Peter Norton, Crafts Officer at Herefordshire Council, said: “Herefordshire has a reputation as a county where artisan made products and produce thrive, increasingly people are looking for a sense of uniqueness, whether that’s an item of jewellery, a piece of cheese or a bottle of cider.
“The Herefordshire Made logo will be used extensively to encourage visitors and locals to identify where these items are made and sold, and the directory will lead them straight there,” he added.
The Directory will be a full colour publication, including images, and will be distributed widely throughout the region.
It will also be published on the Internet and will have direct links to the web pages of those listed, as well as an interactive county map.
Any crafts makers, retailers or craft food producers who wish to included in the directory, please contact, Peter Norton, Crafts Officer, Herefordshire Council, on (01432) 260129 or by email: pnorton@herefordshire.gov.uk
Deadline for applications is October 13 2003.
