The winners of this year’s Hereford City Floral Decorations Competition and the Hereford Allotment & Leisure Gardeners Society ‘Summer Judging’ Competition have been announced this week.
Herefordshire Council Parks, Countryside & Leisure Development Service and the Hereford Allotment & Leisure Gardeners Society judged the competition which is organised each year, in partnership with Hereford City Council.
The competition aims to encourage Hereford’s traders and businesses to brighten up their premises with floral displays, which in turn enhance the appearance of the whole city.
The Mayor of Hereford, Councillor Mrs Polly Andrews, will present the winners with their awards during a special ceremony to be held at the Mayor’s Parlour, Hereford Town Hall on Thursday 21 October 2004 at 7.30pm.
The ceremony has been organised in order to thank the City’s traders and allotment gardeners for their contribution and commitment to making Hereford a more vibrant place for residents and visitors alike.
