Want to find some ‘outdoor’ fun on your doorstep this summer?
Why not come to one of the free WildPlay Sessions at The Grange in Leominster and Newton Coppice in Hereford next week?
These sessions have been specially organised in partnership with Herefordshire Council Parks, Countryside & Leisure Development Service to bring WildPlay into the County’s parks.
The Herefordshire Nature Trust WildPlay Project will be at The Grange in Leominster on from 2-4pm on Tuesday 17th & Wednesday 18th August.
There will be games, activities and crafts to celebrate the natural world.
They will be at Newton Coppice, Belmont in Hereford from 10am-12pm on Friday 20th August for ‘Take a bus to the woods: Woodland Minibeasts’
Come along to find out who lives in the wood and make your own magical minibeast to take home.
Lily Horseman, WildPlay Officer said: “Come along and have some fun finding out about the great outdoors! All events are free - no need to book, just turn up and join in!”
The event at Newton Coppice has been specially arranged to coincide with public transport as there are no parking spaces available.
Take the 449 bus from the Country Bus Station at 9.55am from Tesco Belmont at 10.04am.
The WildPlay Project at Herefordshire Nature Trust aims to encourage children to play outdoors.
They promote structured activities including drama and music, creative play, wild food and cookery, sensory exploration and more traditional environmental education activities and free play out of doors.
This includes helping anyone who works with children in an out of school setting to get their groups involved.
They have been working with the Parks, Countryside & Leisure Development Service for the past two years to provide fun for kids at Queenswood Country Park including family WildPlay sessions and ‘Bertie Buzzard’ trails during the school holidays.
Children must be accompanied by an adult to join in with the games and activities and ensure the safety of their child.
