Herefordshire Council is seeking feedback on proposals for a housing development at Tanyard Lane in Ross.
The Tanyard Lane site forms a housing proposal within the emerging Unitary Development Plan for 150 units of which a proportion will be to meet local affordable housing needs.
A plan of the proposed development has been prepared by consultants in partnership with the Council to provide more details about scheme layout and design proposals.
The development brief is currently out to consultation and people’s views are being sought.
Cllr Tom Hunt, Planning Committee Chairman, said: “Please use this opportunity to let us have your views on this important development proposal for Ross-on-Wye.”
An exhibition is now on at Swan House in the Ross Info shop where your feedback on the proposals would be very much appreciated.
The public consultation exercise will culminate with a Local Area Forum meeting on the 15th September at 7.30pm at John Kyrle High School when members of the public will be able to discuss issues relating to the development brief with planning officers.
Cllr Phil Edwards, Cabinet Member (Environment), added: “If you would like to discuss issues with planning officers please make use of the Local Area Forum meeting.”
A number of objections have been made to the site through the UDP process some of which are relative to design and site layout.
It is hoped that this exhibition will go some way to providing additional information to the UDP which may help in overcoming or explaining some of the issues raised in representations that have been received.
It should be noted that all duly made objections, that have been pursued through the UDP process, for this site will have the opportunity to be considered by the inspector at the inquiry which is currently programmed for February 2005.
We appreciate all feedback which will help in ensuring a successful scheme is achieved for this housing site’.
