SURE START LEOMINSTER AND KINGTON

Sure Start would like to congratulate parent volunteers who have recently completed training in areas such as food hygiene, basic IT, customer service, assertiveness training, interview skills and CV writing.

Sure Start Leominster and Kington Parent Volunteers were able to access the free training through Sure Start after accruing volunteer hours within Sure Start and the wider community.

Chris Dunlop, Parent Involvement Officer for the Sure Start Programme, congratulated all the parent volunteers on their achievement.

Chris said: “This is a good example of how Sure Start can make a difference to families within the Sure Start area.”

The training was delivered over six months by Amelia Hughes of Herefordshire Voluntary Action.

A presentation evening was held at the Forbury Chapel in Leominster on Friday 16th July 2004, and was attended by friends and family of the volunteers. Amelia also presented the parents with their certificates.

Any parents interested in becoming Volunteers with Sure Start should contact Chris Dunlop on 01432 383 340.
