Herefordshire Council’s library service and arts team is working in partnership with The Fetch Theatre to bring an exciting new live show to Leintwardine library on November 9.
The show is inspired by India’s epic story the Ramayana which recounts the tale of the great Prince Rama, his wife, Sita, the ten-headed demon Ravana, and Hanuman the monkey general. In their battles of good versus evil many adventures occur culminating in their joyous homecoming remembered now at Divali, the Hindu festival of light.
Working for a day with young people in Leintwardine and a professional performer, The Fetch will be presenting an original interpretation of the Ramayana in their unique and stunning visual style using unforgettable masks, shadows, puppets and props.
The workshop for young people aged 9-14 is running from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm at the Community Centre, Leintwardine, a building which also houses the library. The cost for the workshop is £1.
This will be followed by a storytelling performance by the young people at 4pm and this is open to everyone with tickets £1 each.
