Decision on new taxi conditions deferred

07 October 2009

Herefordshire Council’s regulatory committee agreed at its meeting on Tuesday, October 6 to defer a decision on a revised set of licence conditions for private hire and hackney carriage vehicles.

The committee agreed that an informal meeting will be held between three committee members, a legal representative from Herefordshire Council, the council’s acting regulatory manager Marc Willimont and representatives from the Taxi Association to discuss the proposed new conditions.

A progress report from this meeting will be made to the November meeting of the regulatory committee.

Prior to this informal meeting, the committee also wants the Taxi Association to provide to the council a written report on what private hire and hackney carriage vehicles conditions they want to discuss.

After this planned informal meeting, the committee hope that new taxi conditions can then be put before the regulatory committee no later than January.
